boy bands are raging in korea.
at least korean entertainment is a step above taiwanese. their media content is far superior as is their production quality - music, television (soap operas, etc.) i will have to get into the mindlessness of taiwanese media at a later time.

flip flops. nobody wears them there. they are too traditional. too proper/ classy. too “put together.” to my foreign taste, it does look different/ exotic (they are really into the blunt cut bang), but unlike the taiwanese girls who dye it, perm it, cut it every which way….korean have four variations of hair it seems like, max. like i said previously, their faces are done up,...

it’s the beverly hills of korea. if you didn’t know, the stereotype is that majority of korean women, though hot, have plastic surgery. generous amounts of it. i didn’t believe it and thought that the sources i was hearing it from were based on biases for taiwanese girls, chinese girls, japanese, etc… i came to the country and did double take at how tall, fit, and awesome...

I take for granted that living in taiwan is not truly THAT foreign to me. I can speak mandarin fluently and have been able to figure out directions/ cultural nuances from just asking. Since Korea was only the 3rd country I’ve been to, and the only one so far where I didn’t understand anything, it really was another first time experience for me. tourist spots/ my itin for the one week...

a puke story
if this looks long, here’s the short of it: i basically entered korea with NO PLANNING whatsoever. i boarded the flight that i booked last minute, literally, with no certain place to stay, no idea of what i should do there, and not enough money/ language skills to get by. alright, so it’s really not all my fault. my boss didn’t tell me that we had a week off for summer...

Hey everyone, Greetings from the local Starbucks in sunny California! Haha, just got in last night (for all your Cali-folks, I’ve already devoured two double-doubles at In-n-out) and I gotta say, I’m already missing everyone and everything from Taipei. Waking up this morning and not having a 便當 from 7-11 was a pretty weird feeling, haha. All joking aside, I just wanted to thank...
